Thank you very much for the dimensions and the picture. Golly, vis-a-vis the Tamaya, the Skalen looks like a panzer alongside a rickshaw. As you suggest, the size of the tank's garage may have been a factor in lack of enthusiasm among navigators. As a matter of curiosity, which sextant's box holds the record? I no longer have my C. Plath, but it's case had the snap-fitting which clamped the sextant's handle when you set it into the box. The advantage was you could stow the sextant quickly and without re-setting the arm to 40�.
