Similarly to Greg's experience, I schlep my 8 inch Dobs telescope to a busy corner in our town monthly. Everyone stops to take a peek at the Moon. Jeffrey, my favorite homeless, chronically besotted mendicant staggered up to the eyepiece, looked in. He suddenly sobered up, proclaiming he knew something about the night sky, looked again and started to quietly weep. He thanked me profusely for the opportunity, shook my hand with a strong earnest grip and continued on his wobbling way. Does he remember? I doubt it. But, I will never forget that night.
