Its been a long time since I last was involved in this stuff, but I will attempt to answer George ... Oblique ascension is used astrologically in the application of equatorial arcs of direction as indicators of the events of a life. Specifically, it is used to direct a planet to the eastern or western horizon or prime vertical and generally involves planets in the 6th or 12th astrological houses - covering some 30-years of life. The OA varies with geographical latitude of the place of birth and the declination of the planet.
