If I may ask everyone, how accurate do you want to get with that gizmo? Near land, is it not best to fix off of land objects...and while cruising - I do not know? I would like to get a feel for the range of comfort that all of the experienced cruisers are used to. Accuracy to comfort..... I always thought that in the blue - 1-2 mile radius was good enough. Did we not navigate well enough with out having to shoot up all of that space junk? I see people in boat shows looking at GPS's -buying the things and not being able to understand the simple LAT / LONG definition....very sad indeed. I imagine the Coast Guard will be the authority on this. Look for something on their DGPS pages. Nothing yet but I expect it to be improved in accuracy, not obsoleted.
