Hello Gary – please could you say what make and model were the three
watches you used for your experiment? I tried but failed to find the photo you
posted.
On this subject – before reading about Gary’s experiment I was thinking
recently of doing something similar myself with a few Casio F-91W watches. I
then remembered I had an old one buried somewhere and finding it it turned out
to be a predecessor – a Casio F-84W which I bought in England in 1988. Unlike
the F-91W which is given a place of honour on the Internet, there is hardly a
mention of the F-84W and most of it is in Japanese. Anyone familiar with Casio
quartz watch history? Was it a model not widely available in the west?
In any case I loaded it, and also a fairly new and much more expensive
Timex Expedition i-Control watch which I also have, with new CR2016
batteries last night and set them to precise UTC. The Timex is already a second
out this morning whilst the little old Casio is still smack on. I will follow
the two during the next weeks and months and
report.
