When I first started learning marine navigation, my tutor used Ageton 211, it was the only 211 available at the time. The several table entries, and its layout made me prone to errors with it. I found 214, 249, and 229 too bulky for a small boat. I stumbled across John S. Leatcher's book, (Self-Contained Celestial Navigation with H.O. 208, 1977, ISBN 0-87742-082-3)and used that with his columnar lay out for years. Later I tried P.V.H. Weems LOP Book, Fourth Edition (No ISBN). I has less entries than 208 if you use the Azmimuth Diagram provided, but about the same number of entries if you use the table to calculate azimuth. The Actual LOP tables are 14 pages, plus 8 pages for Polar Coverage. Dan Hogan WA6PBY dhhogan@nav.cnchost.com http://nav.cnchost.com Catalina 27 "GACHA"
