The preamble to my edition of AP 3270 (HO249 to you) is as follows. The specification for these tables was agreed in April, 1950, between representatives of the Royal Air Force, the Royal Canadian Air Force and the United States Air Force, at a Working Party on the Standardization of Almanacs and Tables for Air Navigation. Volume 1 is a revision of the preliminary edition of the U.S. Navy Hydrographic Office Publication No. 249, Star Tables for Air Navigation, origjnally conceived and designed by Commander C. H. Hutchings, United States Navy, and published in 1947. Although Volumes 2 and 3 are new they represent the completion of the full project originally planned by the U.S. Navy Hydrographic Office in 1947. Hope that is some help NG
