The Bris sextant generally has 8 reflected images of the sun. 5 of the reflected suns are dim and can be safely observed without sunglasses. If a Bris is constructed on camera UV filters then it can be mounted on a DSLR for imaging with a time stamp. This is my favorite way of using this cool navigation tool. Microscope glass works well cut to about 24 mm square and shimmed with pencile leads to desired angles. A UV activated epoxy does a good job of holding everything together .
