Hello..new to list and to celestial nav, so apologies if my question is uninformed... I bought an old Astra (Nova GLH130-40). Looks like it was in great shape to start with but packaged poorly and knocked around quite badly in shipping :-( The upper screw holding the handle on is loose. It looks like the only way to get at it is to take off the index arm, which scares me. Is this something that can be done? There is a plastic cover over a large screw, also a collar threaded on with three holes to turn it by... The pieces of the horizon mirror have slid around a bit too, i will try to read up on how to adjust it and then check the index error..everything else seems to move freely and work...should i be really upset about this or will this sextant still be functional / accurate?? what else should i be checking?? the optics and filters and mirror silvering all seem good and the mic turns almost perfectly freely thanks so much for your help....murray __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
