Dear Paul,
First of all, and since some other NavList Members recently seem to have difficulties reading the correct Posts sequence numbering (recent Server change completed by Frank ?), I am just specifying that

Thank you very much for your last reply. I will answer as follows :

EXOTIC TERMS / HTML MESSAGE
Sorry for lazily selecting directly from my keyboard a sign which more or less looks like the "smaller than" sign. Certainly this is why your software interpreted my post as an HTML message. In the future, I will carefully choose all characters only from the Windows Characters list.
Let me first try with the degree sign : ° . Did it work this time ? Only when my post is published, can I know for sure ...

REFRACTED SEMI-DIAMETERS
Your definition of a refracted semi-diameter - as I see it - is the angular separation between the point which is the refracted image of the unrefracted center and the point which is the refracted image of an(y) other point on the unrefracted diameter.
If I keep understanding correctly you consider that the great circle GC1 which joins up both refracted centers is exactly the same as the great circle GC2 joining up the closest two points between both apparent limbs (because a sextant will - or is supposed to at least - measure exactly that angular distance alongside GC2 I would think). And from the sextant measured distance you add-up both refracted semi-diameters computed alongside GC1.
So, thank you again for your clarification here.

ANGULAR VELOCITIES (geocentric vs topocentric)
Thank you for your check on geocentric velocity. I will check again my value against yours. I probably did not look up in the right data register, since all other results show an excellent match.

Thank you again for your reply, and Best Regards

LAST NOTE : Just to be to be sure, and since it was the first time I sent an attachment, did you see and could you read my post on the Cras Plotter [NavList 11145] ? I am just asking because I have not received any comment so far. Still, I do agree that this kind of information does not warrant any kind of lenghty reply.
