Randall,
What a coincidence. I too observed Venus last night (very bright). An A-7 bubble octant was used from an A.P. of 27*41' N 80*24' W UT 01:37:39 2/13/2012
GHA 161*39.3'
Dec 2*3.3' N
Hs 8*52'
Ho 8*46'
Hc 8*41.8'
intercept 4.2' toward
azimuth 267.7*
This is a typical result for single observations using an aircraft octant.

Thanks for catching that error Greg. It was way off but I didn't want to 'whitewash' the result so I included what I felt to be the one embarrassing sight of the group. I like the 0.2 better. I hope my math is better for this next one.
It is not easy to get low altitude sights using a mirror AH but it can be done. Here is an fun result from last night: (IC= +6.4)
Body local time Hs Refraction Ho Hc Intercept
Venus 20-31-44 9*07.8 -10.6 4*26.5 4*25.5 1.0T
I had to stand 30 feet back from the mirror to get this. The printed refraction table does not go this low so I used the NSO refraction figure. Venus was just at the roof line of the house across the street. I had to move to shoot past their chimney.
