Just figure the time of next sunrise. Should be possible using the Nautical Almanac with knowledge of position at previous sunset , course, and speed. Mark the time at sunrise and adjust the suspect chronometer to match calculated sunrise. Not perfect but should be within 3 minutes of correct time. The next step would be to do a round of stars with a Moon observation and adjust chronometer time so that the Moon LOP cuts through the star fix. I believe this is the John Letcher method. Now latitude sail to destination rather than heading directly to the destination.
