    Hello Amrin,

    Is a simply problem of kinematics, and vector analysis is the best way to solve it.
    Naval kinematics, 2D, is valid under certain hypothesis, in my web there is doc in spanish about it. 3D is for air navigation.

    The motion of a vessel is described by two components: speed and course. The position of the vessel may found with a vector with its origin at the centre of the Earth. The derivative is the velocity.
