I imagine these folks save a record of the pointing data of their mount during the pass, which would then be calibrated against stars before and after. It looked like the pointing was being manually touched up at times. Amazing detail---the center of mass could certainly be located on the image very well (assuming its location is known relative to the optical features). Cheers, Peter
