I'm cobbling together my own version of this as soon as I can: http://skytonight.com/equipment/home/Image-Stabilize-Your-Binoculars.htm l Very clever, spectacularly simple! And I'll bet some cash that the concept can be adapted for sensitive sextant work. -FER Interesting, but not a very practical solution for use on a moving vessel. I can just visualize the comedy of using that contraption in a crowded wheelhouse or maneuvering one's self on a bridge wing to scope something out. Or using that contraption to take a couple of cuts with a sextant during a round of sights. But it looks like a cheap way to get a stabilized view of something while in the back yard. A decent pair of stabilized binos can be had for around the price of a medium grade sextant. I purchased a really good pair a few years ago and use them all the time while checking things out while on the water. Especially nice for checking out some of the more scantily clad beauties frolicking along the shore here in SoCal while in a moving vessel.
