    Interesting exhibition.

For those list members within striking distance of the US Natrional Air and
Space Museum and the National Museum of American History (wherever they may
be) the following announcement may be of some interest.

It seems that it first appeared on the Museum-L mailing list. I saw it when
it was copied (with permission) to the rete mailing list (intended for
denizens of museums with a scientific bent). I haven't asked for permission
    to copy it to Navlist.

It appears to be referring to a future exhibition being contemplated, as no
dates are given. If you seek more information, don't ask me; presumably
David Romanowski would be a good man to ask. If you find that information,
    do copy it to Navlist.

    Yours, George.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Exhibits on Time and Navigation
    Message-ID:

The National Air and Space Museum and the National Museum of American
History are collaborating on an exhibition on the history and continued
importance of time in navigation. The basic message: if you want to know
precisely where you are, you need an accurate clock. The exhibition will
cover the history of timekeeping and its relationship to navigation on the
sea and the land and in the air and in space, from the invention of the
chronometer to atomic clocks and GPS.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any particularly well done exhibitions on
this subject that are currently on view.
