[NavList 2480] there is a list of the articles, and is different, (279

* I have some printed papers from the IoN not included in the CD: Optimal
estimation of a multi-star fix, DeWit Vol21n�4 1974. The method of coplanar
vertices... Robin, Vol46n�4 1999, ...

and he followed that with a copy of the contents list from the IoN disc,
with 279 papers.

I have checked what Andres said, on my own copy of this disc, and agree with
his comments.

The list of items that I quoted in Navlist 2480 was taken, not from the 
contents list of the disc itself, but from the list quoted on the website of 
the Navigation Foundation, at-
http://navigationfoundation.org/IONcelnav.htm

That list gave those 286 numbered items, and is clearly inaccurate when
compared with the disc itself. I can only presume that there was some slight
slip, between the cup and the lip. The list of 279 papers, quoted by Andres
in Navlist 2587, appears to correspond with the disc itself.

The most serious aspect seems to be the inability to print a large swathe of
the papers. As I understood it, the intention was that all would be
printable.

I concur that something has gone wrong with the scanning of page 150. Also,
Andres argues that two other papers should have been considered as having
celestial content, and included.

I am sure that David Burch, who made the selection for the Navigation
Foundation and the IoN, would wish to know about the matters that Andres has
raised. I know that he keeps an eye on the Navlist pages, so he is likely to
be aware of Andres' posting, but I will copy this to him anyway, just in
case.
