Re: Japanese Bygrave slider rule on Ebay

    Tom,
I am a Bygrave enthusiast with an original AML Mk 11A circa 1920s in perfect condition I was lucky to get reasonably cheaply on ebay in UK 4 years ago. From that, I built a homemade replica for use at sea. I would be very interested in seeing any photos etc of your Japanese model and any history about their use during the war. My seller said he thought mine had been used in a Lancaster bomber during WW2, but I have no hard evidence. The RAF chief "pathfinder" navigator used one, but they were not general issue, cel nav reductions being done in RAF with The new Air almanac or Weem's star curves. (neither as good or as fast as the Bygrave ,in my opinion!).There were apparently many more Japanese and German ones made, so perhaps they were in more general use on their side? Does anyone know?
Happy to supply pictures and details of mine on request.
Like the idea of a Bygrave Museum!
    Best wishes,Francis
