George, I will certainly put the long form of my abbreviations in the
post. I will also start to number them. Most of my abbreviations are
in the US tradition and should be found in Bowditch if I slip.
Unfortunately for all of us, this is my first encounter with both the yacht
folks and international people in the realm of Celestial Navigation. I
think that it may take some time before I become fluent in the slightly
different jargon. It reminds me of when I was unloading in Southampton, UK
and this longshoreman was telling me a joke and I couldn't for the life of me
understand what he was talking about because of his slang.
I will endeavor to be more clear in my examples.
Jeremy

I have a request for Jeremy, about his abbreviations. To me, having been
raised under a somewhat different tradition (in which it's always
astro-nav., never celestial) using different texts, the abbreviations Jeremy
uses, standard to him no doubt, are sometimes a puzzle. I can usually work
out what they mean, but it would be helpful if, at least the first time that
a quantity is referred to, it gets spelled out in full.
Also, if Jeremy gives each exercise a sequential number, it would help when
they are archived, as I hope will happen.
