    Bill, Fred - I must have been very lucky with my eBay purchase, because I obtained a post 23,000 ‘Mates’ three circle sextant with zero arc corrections.  At least the sextant adjuster calls it a ‘Mates’ in the attached receipt.  Do you think you could get a new index mirror fitted and adjusted for one pound seventeen shillings and sixpence today?

    Am I a slide missing?  Capt O M Watts says all inverting telescopes came with two slides.  I’ve only got one, the four wire one. Can anyone tell me what went in the little rectangular housing on the bottom left and the circular housing top right.  Could it be to put the star telescope in when not in use, or for the missing slide? Dave
