I have seen occasional reference to this device, the 1984 Bowditch, page 662 has some descriptive text, page 663 has an illustration thereof. There isn't a whole lot of information on this star finder/identifier though. In the text, the following claim is made, "This star finder provides greater reliability in identification than No. 2102-D". I've used the 2102-D, finding the plotting of stars, their altitude and azimuth to be simple enough. Actually identifying particular stars is another story however, taking into consideration sky conditions, and in my case, the large possibility of operator error.
In any event, does anyone here have particular knowledge of the Kotlaric Star Finder & Identifier, or experience therewith? Also, does anyone here know the whereabouts of any, English language versions.
Thanks.
Alan
