Since you are interested in CN, history of CN, AND live in nearby Boston, you should seriously consider attending the Celestial Navigation Weekend in Mystic in early June.

As I have been learning about celestial navigation I have been building out some tools as an aid to help me learn the practice. The main tool I have been working on is a web based to plot interception LOPs on top of a Google map. A while ago I posted to alt.sailing information on the tool looking for feedback and suggestions. It was suggested by an alt.sailing reader that I also send information about tool to this group in order to get more feedback.
So, if you have time and/or are interested you can find the tool home page at http://davidk.bainbridge.googlepages.com/interceptplottingtool, minimal instructions at http://davidk.bainbridge.googlepages.com/toolinstructions and the actual tool at http://davidk.bainbridge.googlepages.com/Intercept.htm.
I would appreciate any suggestions or feedback you have about the tool, especially if you find errors.
Thanks and enjoy.
cheers,
