I hope that gravity is leveling my artificial horizon for me ;-) The sunspot is just a visual convenience if perfectly centered. Not useful when off center because of the transposed image.

Fiendishly clever, Greg. Alas, it's just turned cloudy where I am. I always show the neighborhood kids recognizable sunspots march across the disk. Also, isn't it a unique opportunity to LEVEL an artificial horizon? My limited practical experience with this procedure has yet to rise above zero.
Oh WAIT A MINUTE! Here comes the Sun.
