Every sextant I have ever seen is left handed. My right hand grasps the sextant handle. My left hand has a watch on its wrist, a ball point pen between its fingers, and turns the micrometer screw. When everything is right, I let go of the micrometer screw, glance at my watch, write the time and the Hs on the underside of my right forearm, and continue on holding the sextant in my right hand. The dexterous one does all the fine work. The other does the grunt work. Anybody know if John Hadley was left handed? Bill Murdoch
