I don't know, and I don't have a strong enough opinion on this to add any further, so instead, for those new to celestial navigation, I'll take the opportunity to recommend a book. The book in question has a very brief section on this topic which may or may not be right.
Got a sextant? Get "The Sextant Handbook" by Bruce Bauer. It has all sorts of useful tips.
