Fred, I'd hoped that a Russian scope might fit the Tamaya, & was asking if anyone knew. I'm guessing the Tamaya was based on a German model, and someone said the Russian sextants were made in East Germany. The sliding-fit attachment on the Tamaya provides an excellent in-or-out adjustment for fine tuning the comparative brightness of the reflected and direct images. Figured it might be pretty standard. Anyway, I'd like to have collimating wires in a scope for the longer distances. But 12X? Holy mackerel! Can you control that thing on a handheld sextant? Bruce
