I have read with great interest the discussion about distance measurement; cables and shackles and furlongs, etc. How about some information on casks, barrels, hogsheads, tuns, etc.? O'Brian and Forrester both make use of the terms but I am curious about their meaning. Any help out there? Tom Carr
