I know my $10 TI 30XA does not pass the Meeus test of squaring 1.0000001 27 times. Mine calculates 674514.8688 rather than 674530.4707. This is equivalent to HP-85 or HP-48s performance. Typically I don't use any more figures than needed when averaging times or Ho's. In this case single degrees. For some reason I used all three degree figures and obtained the above. The TI-30XA has a ten character display, and that used all ten. Out of curiosity I went back and used only one degree figure (3, 4 or 5). Here I did obtain 4°40'28".8. I was surprised to learn the TI truncated the last figure on the display rather than rounding up. Live and learn. Bill B
