For the lunatics: I have come across what is said to be a simplified method for using lunar sights to calculate longitude in Chapter 7 of an online astro nav. tutorial - http://home.t-online.de/home/h.umland/index.htm There is also a wealth of formulas within the various chapters for calculating all sorts of navigational data, and many diagrams. It comes in the PDF format.
