The best place to get information on "aim-off" is at my website at: https://sites.google.com/site/fredienoonan/ look at "topics" and "discussions." In early days of marine navigation when it was not easy to determine longitude it was common to aim off to the east or west of the destination, sail until reaching the latitude of the destination, and then sail either east or west to the destination. This was called "latitude sailing." gl On 9/10/2010 6:20 AM, mjans wrote: > > I'm a PhD student and am working on a paper quantifying when and by > how much to aim off.
