Mike, you wrote: "I was wondering if anyone has any experience utilizing Hs as per Bruce Stark's book procedure as opposed to the regular practice of Hc for Lunar Distance?" Sure. I've done some with Hs but usually I skip that step since computing power is cheap today... reall, really cheap! Historically, shooting the altitudes saved time. It was easier and quicker than calculating them in almost every case because the extra work of computing altitudes was NOT cheap. Using the clearing tool on my web site, you can enter the observed altitudes if you have them available. Otherwise, leave those blank and they will be calculated. To translate, for those new to the topic, using Hs means a raw measured altitude and Hc means a computed altitude (H for hauteur -French for altitude, s for sextant, c for computed). -FER http://www.HistoricalAtlas.com/lunars --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ To post to this group, send email to NavList@fer3.com To , send email to NavList-@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
