Mr. Prinz, thanks for your help.On 04-26 untill now it was clear in my small reptilian mind what was needed to do this. Now I'm totally confused after reading Mr. Huxtable's and your letters today.I can see I need to study up on this and get a clearer picture of what is needed.I know I've got the mechanics fairly well controlled to this but I'm missing some concept about the distance. It doesn't help that I'm writeing down the wrong definitions of what I am trying to convey.I've got to read all this again and hope Mr. Stark's book gets here soon. 0849 was the last I could see the Moon, and barely at that.I don't understand what you mean by the almanac providing distance of the day. I was under the impression that the stars had to be close to the ecliptic or at least to the Moon to do this.I stayed away from Altair as you advised even though it was clearly visable.Deneb was very prominent through this but I thought the distance from the Moon and it's altitude was to great.Altair was 50-55* away from the Moon to the South and West and Deneb was around 90* To the North and West. Both had an altitude of around 70*.Antares was way to the West about 100* from the Moon at around 16* alt. because it was just visable above the summits to the West of me. I"ve been sitting here for some time thinking through the movements of the bodies and I think I see what you're getting at.Antares was moving almost directly away from the Moon while the Moon kept almost between Enif and Fomalhaut the entire time. While the distance between Mars -Moon-Venus changed also. The distance of the Moon between Enif and Fomalhaut didn't change that much.It was their relative position in the sky as a group that changed.I think I had the wrong concept of "distance" as it applies to this. Now I may understand why you would need to recline to do this.Am I right in my assumption?Bear with me as I'm new to this and I'll get this in bits and pieces.I hope I've got it correct now. Thanks for your help.
