I asked the seller several questions:
1. Does the averager work? Push done the lever to reset it and then press the start lever and it should run for 120 seconds.
2. Can you post a photo of the back of the instrument? (to see if there are the screw holes for a strap)
3, Does the reticle illuminate and, if you can see it, does it move freely when you tilt the sextant?

The reticle illuminates and moves freely with the pendulous mirror. I will post a photo of the back as soon as I am able.
