I stitched together a bathymetric chart showing Sumner's "as the crow flies" route from Charleston to Greenock in 1837. The source images come from the NOAA link http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/mgg/image/2minrelief.html that I think Frank (?) provided to us recently. Criticisms welcome. Does anyone know more about the actual ship and route that he did follow? http://jimthompson.net/boating/SumnerTrip.htm Jim Thompson jim2@jimthompson.net www.jimthompson.net Outgoing mail scanned by Norton Antivirus -----------------------------------------
