George's comment about the availability of low-price copies of "The Marine Chronometer" by Rupert Gould as on-demand reprints got me thinking... They're getting their originals from somewhere, right? And sure enough, it's available at archive.org in various formats. I'm also linking a copy here (the B/W pdf version, 22 MB). Since the google bots will soon come along and digest its contents, OCR-ing as they go, that should help bring more people to NavList interested in chronometer history and navigation history.
