I have an extensive collection of navigation books but only have one copy of Weems' 'Air Navigation' third edition published in 1943. I have not seen a copy of his on Marine navigation. He came over to Britain to receive the Gold Medal from the Institute of Navigation (not yet 'Royal' Institute) on 19th Oct 1955 for his outstanding contributions to air and surface navigation. He had received an Award from the Royal Society of Arts in 1934 for his invention of the second-setting watch. He received the Gold medal from the Aero Club of France in 1931 for his textbook 'Air Navigation' published in 1931. A picture of his receiveing the Gold Medal from the president of the Institute of Navigation, Mr. D. H. Sadler. was published in the 1956 volume IX of the Journal of the Institute of Navigation. I am unable to send it but if you would like a copy I can do so if you contact me directly.
