Hello all, I ask for your help. Some weeks ago, I requested the help of the list in obtaining the Martelli's Tables for finding LHA for the "time sights" that were very popular in the years 1875-1950. Thanks to willingness of Bruce Stark, I possess the copy now. I thank you once again, Bruce. But the explanatory notes of these tables are very scarce. Cotter in his "History of Nautical Astronomy", page 323, says that: "Volume three of the Admiralty Manual of Astronomy describes the quantities tabulated in each of Martelli's five tables. ..." In the bibliography, he cites the editions of this Manual from 1914, 1922, 1928, 1938, 1954. I managed to peruse the edition from 1928 and Bruce Stark kindly searched through the edition from 1938, vainly. Can anybody look around for Martelli in indexes of other editions, please? I need only the year and pages, then I will order their copies by interlibrary services. Maybe Cotter's statement about the volume three isn't correct, as often with him. But from his words one can guess that he really read the passage I seek for. Thank you very much. Jan Kalivoda
