After I sent my last post I realized that there does appear to be some differences between H.O. 218 and H.O. 249. The example I gave for an altitude near 10 degrees is correct but there should also be similar differences between the tabululated Hcs for the other examples by the amount of the refraction correction even if it is the same at 5,000 feet as at sea level. There should be a 3' difference between the approximate 17 degree Hcs and 1' difference for the Hcs in the 38 degree range. I will have to evalute these tables more thouroughly.
