Merry Christmas to everyone. Attached you will find my "Christmas Card". It looks like a snowstorm, doesn't it? I prepared this image recently for a museum curator who's working on an exhibit related to the history of Cape Florida. It's an engraving that was apparently created for Edwin Dunkin's popular astronomy book "The Midnight Sky" which was first published in 1869 (available on Google Books if you're interested). It illustrates the Leonid meteor storm of November 1799 as reported by the American explorer Andrew Ellicott who was sailing off Florida at the time.
