    MkIXa vs SNO-T
    From: Alexandre Eremenko
    Date: 2007 Feb 15, 19:16 -0800

    1. February 15, 16LT Sun altitude SNO-T art horizon, Caro syrup+oil:
    IC=-0.5,
    Errors: 0.8, 0.2, 0.1, 0.1, -0.2, 0.3, 0.0, 0.2.
    Average error: 0.18, sigma=0.3

    2. Same, MkIXa, no averaging.
    Errors: -3.6, -4.3, -3.7, -4.8, -3.6, -1.4, -3.2, 6.8, -0.6, 5.2
    Average error: -1.22, sigma=4'.0

(You can notice the switch from negative to positive errors
    after the 7-th observation.
This happened when I had to push the "increase knob".
So there might be some instrumental error related to
    this knob action.)

    3. Now averager is on: GMT: 21:25:45 (end of observation) sextant
    reading: 19d16',
    error 1'.7

    4. February 16 (GMT date), Sirius altitude, MkIXa, no averager:
    GMT: Alt: Error:
    2:04:55 31d57' -0.4
    2:07:10 31d54' -4.0
    2:09:25 32d05' 1.7
    2:10:45 32d09' 2.7
    2:12:00 32d13' 4.0
    Average error: 0'.8, sigma=3'

    5. Averager is on (Sirius): GMT=2:20:10, alt=32d24, Error 0.93.

These results are more typical than the one I posted first.
I mean 4-6 minutes errors frequently happen in individual
    observations.
They are usually canceled by averaging, manual or automatic.
I suppose that the first observation I posted two days ago was so good
    by pure coincidence.

    Alex.
