Was this error the index error or the excentricy error of these instruments? In the latter case, how did you manage to assess this error on board the cargoship?

Both the Freibergers I found aboard MV Natalie Schulte had some errors in excess of a minute, but as they were never used and appeared never to have been used, I don't suppose it mattered.
