The Posted picture has the explanation in writting. There are 3 disk. The bottom is the Base Disk with all the infomation on the outer Rim. As you can see, This problem is to place 1. Place ,spiderweb, the Lat and Long on the base disk and rotate it to DR. long. Lat was already selected as this disk just as you do with the 2102-d. You now have your LAT&LONG and horizon. You look at your clock and add your zone description for your GMT. you now look at the BASE DISK for the month and day desired, at that same place, is the GMT equal to that date. That GMT is also equal to 00: on that day. you simply add the two GMT's. Last you place the transpart star disk and rotate Aries to the the add together GMT's. If you have an Almanc you can select any month and day off the Base Disk, read the degrees for Aries, off the disk and the time if you wish. Look up in the Almanac that Month and day, you will find that the GHA of Aries is the same as the the disk in degrees. You looked up the month and day on the disk and read the time on the disk instead of degrees, you have the advange of directly using time for you observation. 2 minute is more that enough time for the set up. I have eliminated the Almanac. If you place the sun by Dec and GHA on the star disk at the start of the day, or any body you can get the time of occurance, rise/set or any place in the sky,you simply read the Aries time and substract the GMT of the month and day you started with. I have the same horizon disk, (but opague) as the 2102-D.They can be interchangable. A transparent are the same as 2102-D, but i can work any Celo problem and even teach TraingAid this is the reason I made it. That's another sea story. I have workable models and power poin presetation and a movies on parts and how there work together You can see the full base disk and work your 2102-D using the information off the picture. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ NavList message boards: www.fer3.com/arc Or post by email to: NavList@fer3.com To , email NavList-@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
