    I got my CelestiComp V on EBay - they aren't "cheap" (I paid $150 for
    it), but they do pop up occasionally so they aren't impossible to find
    these days.

    I'd have to agree with that based on convenience, speed, ease of use,
    etc. (not to mention the graphic solution that a plain numerical
    calculator can't provide).
    
    And on a large ship like that (with the bridge 100-some feet off the
    water) electronic gear like computers isn't likely to get a saltwater
    soaking like it might on a yacht (all the more reason to keep the
    manual celnav skills sharp).
