I suggest that you subscribe to the Canadian Coast Guard's "Marine-L" discussion forum. Professional seafarers from all over the world participate in the various discussions. For the past few years, ISM has been a hot topic; some old timers absolutely despise ISM, including and especially a professional master mariner from Belgium who is a regular contributor to the forum. He contends that it just means more paperwork and not a bit of added safety. Some of his comments are quite caustic though humorous. I can't exactly remember the mechanics of how to subscribe to the list but I believe that it goes something like this: e-mail the following address: LISTSERVER@CGC.NS.CA In the body of the mail, type in "Subscribe" followed by your name. Failing this, go into the Canadian Coast Guard website and search for instructions on how to subscribe. I am still on the list but have been for years so I am embarrassed to say that I cannot remember how I subscribed! Hope this helps.
