Welcome aboard Joe from another former Navy guy ! While in the French Navy, I had a 3 year exchange tour in the US Navy flying A7(E) CORSAIR II on US Navy Aircraft Carriers. I also got some Destroyer time too in my early years before becoming a Fighter/Attack Pilot mostly in the southern oceans - and this is my reason for joining NavList - ,and when you say that a long nite is 6 hours vs 4, it definitely rings a bell. 100 full work hour weeks were just routine then ! So ... they were just looking for a Few Good Men, and they picked you up ! Ahoy Mate ! Best Friendly and Salty Regards, Antoine Antoine M. "Kermit" Couette (by the way, "Kermit" was my tactical call sign in the US Navy and I kept using it ever since). PS : Your story about your harshest weather ? when and where ? In addition, if all other Navigation systems had failed and only time keeper and sextant remained available, that would just THE magic story for all Navlist Members ! :-)) ... I am just dreaming because in the US Navy, Equipement is never down ! Lucky you all !!! Thank you for joining and Welcome again --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ NavList message boards: www.fer3.com/arc Or post by email to: NavList@fer3.com To , email NavList-@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
