    From what I understand, the shrimp-like krill are usually found in large
    swarms and feed on algae (as on the boat bottom), so that although they are
    very small, thousands of them nibbling can make quite an odd noise when
    heard from inside the boat. I have only ever heard them in the warmer
    climes.
