I'm pleased to note a prompt response from "Omar Reis", on the hiccup in his Online Nautical Almanac at 28 Feb 1800 and before. He writes- ===================== I have corrected the problem with dates before 1801 in the Online Nautical Almanac. This should also correct for exception in leap years in 1700, 1800 and 2100. The URL is: www.tecepe.com.br/scripts/AlmanacPagesISAPI.isa ===================== It's good to discover that Omar is so responsive. I wish to acknowledge the contribution of Mike Burkes in noting the discrepancy, and his persistence in tracking it down. When he wrote, Omar was then unaware of the difficulties in star positions that Frank Reed has noted, but I have since copied Frank's message on to him.
