For those admirers of Shackleton, whose exploits would not be nearly so well known save for the magnificent photographs brought back, at some cost to all, by Australian photographer Frank Hurley, this link http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/08/22/1093113057723.html?oneclick=true leads to claims that some of the photos were 'fake', or at least improved. It reminded me of a discussion not so long ago on this list about 'improving' photos. For what little its worth, I agree with his daughter who says: "its a piffling argument".
