    Plath Sextant Button

Hi everyone, I'm new to this list. I've just obtained a very nice Plath
Navistar Professional sextant and have a dumb question. On the back of the
micrometer drum is an orange plastic button. What does that do? Is it for a
light to reading the vernier? If so, where and how does one change the
batteries? I didn't get a manual with the unit. Tnx in advance, Phil
