With all the errors introduced by being on a VERY unstable craft, largest boat I ever sailed was a 43 footer, I don't expect much better. I have always started a new DR from the FIX position picking up the log reading at the time of the FIX. I never reset my manual log because doing that seemed to upset the old Walker I had. I just calculated the distance for the leg. I get the feeling that all this 16 place "accuracy" that electronic widgets indicate people are expecting something from practical navigation that is just not there. Cheers -Dan-
